Stop Music Block
Stop Music Block
The Stop music block explicitly stops the currently playing background music. It has no properties — the moment playback reaches this block, all playing background music stops.
When to Use
- Scenes that need silence — Cutting the music on a shocking event or a tense moment leaves a stronger impression.
- Transition staging — For a beat of silence before a new track begins, sequence Stop music → (dialogue) → new Music block.
- Silence before an ending — Placing Stop music right before an Ending block adds weight to the conclusion.
Usage Tips
- Not needed when changing tracks — Playing a new track with a Music block automatically stops and replaces the previous one. Use Stop music only when you want to fully stop the ongoing music.
- Keep silences short — A silence that drags on can make the player wonder if the music broke. Use just enough to read as an intentional pause.
- Pair with a Sound block — Stopping the music and then playing a short sound effect is a great way to punctuate a specific moment.
